Hands down the best drill is the ladder! This builds stamina and coordination not to mention resistance. Next would be the shuttle run as it builds speed against low gravity stress.

As a sunday league footballer, I think the best football workout so far I found is dribbling with a football around a cone and joggining.

The best football drill is the ladder. It builds stamina and coordination. Shuttle (or T) run is also good because it stresses low center of gravity. Running routes using the receiver tree is also good because it builds both stamina and uses the mental part because as you are drilling, you are learning your routes.

It is important to work on both football skills such as catching the ball as well as speed agility. You need to run routes and catch the ball from a quarterback. Also, use a ladder to practice agility.
