What are the Baptist doctrines regarding rebaptism?

the official teaching of most Baptist churches, and the actual belief of most Baptist preachers, is that baptism is not a salvation event, but is something a saved person does to be accepted into membership in a local congregation. The real issue is this not what the Baptist church teaches, not what the Baptist preacher who baptized.

If you were batized as an infant or by sprinkling, a Baptist church will require you to be batized by full immersion after making a public profession of belief in Jesus Christ. If your baptism was by full immersion following public profession, most Baptist churchs will not require rebaptism. Since all Batist churchs are independent, this is a guide only.

Baptist do require that you be baptized in order to join the church, if you have been baptized in a baptist church and want to transfer your letter you will not have to be baptized again.

If you were baptized as a baby then you need to be rebaptized. If just in another religeon but knew what you were doing then no.

Baptists do not require re-baptism if someone was baptized in another Protestant Christian church. They will, however, require a statement or public admission of accepting Jesus. If you were confirmed in a non-Christian faith, then re-baptism is required; this is usually required for Eastern Orthodox Christianity, Catholicism, Mormon (Latter Day Saints), and Jehovah's Witnesses.
