The gas weed whacker has so much more power in comparison to the electric one. However, gas is rather expensive nowadays, so there are advantages to using electrics. But in all reality, the amount of gas you would use would be less than a gallon for all day.

A gas powered weed wacker definitely does have more power. In addition, since it is not electric, you don't have to worry about plugging it in or getting the cord in your way when you are using it.

The first advantage is you don't have to drag a cord all over your yard with a gas powered one. Also a gas powered one is much more powerful.

Electric weed wacker are light and quiet but are weak and have limited range. Gas ones can be more powerful but are bigger and require more maintenance.

Electric line trimmers are designed to be cleaner running, compact, and low maintenance. However they are not very powerful. You can however buy a more powerful one that runs on a cord instead of off a battery. This will reduce the range you can use it though. Gas trimmers can be very powerful but are nosier, dirtier, and bigger/heavier.
