Whether it is a pair of golf shoes or a new driver it has to feel right to you. If you are going to spend up to five hours on the golf course you need to be comfortable to enjoy yourself. Properly fitted equipment enhances the playing experience.

You should get a complete set of irons. Those need to be consistent. If you are a good golfer, get clubs specifically fit for your swing. Cheaper set for beginner

When buying golf equipment you need to consider the price that you are spending. Don't always assume that a sale is a good price for the item. Make sure that the club is in good shape by throughly inspecting the club for any nicks and scratches or what year the club is from.

Go to the range, try some out, see what works for you. Different clubs are set up differently with lie angles, length, etc. Not to mention, some clubs are much more forgiving than others. If you're a beginner, look for SGI (Super Game Improvement) clubs, they're more forgiving. You'll struggle trying to play blades.

Buy a set of irons that is fitted for your swing. The putter will depend on what feels best to your style. You can test woods with demos before purchasing.
