When selecting a dog, find a breed that matches your lifestyle. Don't select a high energy breed that needs exercise without adequate room to run. Age is another factor, selecting the cute little puppy from a store, might not be as smart of decision as maybe acquiring a dog from the pound, a little older, but possible already house trained.

The top points to consider before choosing a pet dog are whether you want a pup or an adult dog. So eventual the size of the dog matters. Then comes the male or female debate. Once you meet the pup or dog find if their temperament matches yours.

Consider the amount of time you have to spend and take care of them. Consider your finances as well as the size of your home and yard as well.

Temperment, size, age, are a few things to consider. The energy level of the dog should be considered because these dogs get bored easily.
