Martin Luther King's speeches, especially the "I have a dream" are classics. Also look for John F. Kennedy's speech about going to the moon, President Obama's campaign and inaugural speeches, and eleanor Roosevelt's speech insisting that a black singer (Miriam anderson) would sing at the Lincoln Memorial.

Imagine how you would craft a speech to convince people to consider becoming organ donors. That's an example of a persuasive speech. Any time you want to sway people's opinion with words, you use persuasive speech techniques. Other ideas might be talking people into donation money or time.

For good persuasive speaking skills you should take a look at campaign speeches, such as Obama's campaign speeches on youtube. Make sure you pick a topic you are passionate about.

A persuasive speech is merely a speech given to try and convince your audience to agree with you. For example, "Gender selection in countries that prize male children is good/bad because ..." Give supporting evidence and use good sources (no Wikipedia!), and you'll have an awesome speech.
