Many people will often perform "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" simply for its historical significance in musical/theatrical performance. Take a risk and try something that would not ordinarily be performed in musical theater.

Anything form really popular musicals. Songs from the movies cats, fiddler on the roof, the music man or Annie should be avoided if you want a part!

A couple of the most over used songs would be "Memories" from Cats and "And I am Telling You I'm Not Going" from the show Dreamgirls. Another one is "I am the very model of a modern Major-General" from The Pirates of Penzance.

We have Susan Boyle to thank for "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Miserables currently being overused. Songs from "Wicked" and "Hairspray" are also overused these days.
