What is 'non typical' to some might be quite typical to others. Framing this within the Western Judeo-Christian context, a non typical symbol might be the Ouroboros, an ancient symbol depicting a serpent devouring itself own tail, symbolizing the cyclical nature of the cosmos, death and rebirth, etc.
