Aphids, spider mites, mealy bugs, and thrips are all kinds of parasites that may infest your indoor house plants. It may prove challenging to get rid of them but usually spraying an insecticidal soap will solve the problem. In severe cases, you may need to just dispose of the plant.

Aphids, such as the green peach aphid, and whiteflies, such as the greenhouse whitefly, are very common. Other intruders are thrips, springtails, shore flies, spider mites, broad mites, and eriophyid mites, fungus gnats and mealybugs, brown soft scale, and hemispherical scale.

Mealy bugs, Gnats, Mites, Scales, Aphids, Thrips, White Flies, House Flies, spiders (though they dont do much harm. They actually do good!!! ) Each pest causes its own little issues with the plants but most can be eliminated using and indoor plant pest spray.

The key to eliminating scale is to treat even the ones that you cannot see. That means thoroughly drenching all leaf and stem surfaces until they are dripping wet. It is also best if you repeat this treatment all over again in 5 to 7 days to catch any crawlers that you missed the first time.

Mealybugs, Aphids and Whiteflies are the ones I have problems with. I use alcohol in a sprayer but you have to test the plant leafs first to make sure it won't burn the leaves. I also use soapy water for the aphids which seems to work if the alcohol doesn't.

One of the worse parasites is the mealbug. They suck the sap out of the plant. Whiteflies are small flying insects. They are found on the underside of the leaves. Red spiders weave webs between the stems; found underneath the leaves. Greenflies suck the sap off young buds or shoots.
