Have the party in a different setting than most which are done at home. Try to go for maybe a 3 hour cruise ship party, or try to rent out a local club for a couple hours. Also go with what the graduating person likes to do , maybe there a football fan, have that type of theme.

I think that a nice formal dinner would be appropriate for starters and then afterwards a family and friend get together to celebrate and give congrats to the graduate.

Some ideas for a unique graduation party are to do a Hawaiian theme with lays, flowers and beach decorations. Or you can do something related to the graduate's college choice like a Buckeye party for an Ohio State student.

The best graduation parties I have been to have started out "traditionally" with cake and family and friends gathered and celebrating the graduates accomplishments. But then, after the adults have dispersed maybe the younger folks to could visit a teen club or concert.

One idea is to have a "Cap and Gown" party, where guests are required to wear a hat and/or gown to the party. Have a fashion show runway with Pomp and Circumstance playing in the background and give prizes for the ugliest, the most elegant, best overall look, etc. The graduate, of course, wears his/her cap and gown.

A graduation party is one of the most important parties of a high schooler's life. It is what everyone remembers you by, therefore I say go all out. Have a pool party with a volleyball court, horse shoes, a buffet of tons of food and drinks, a famous dj, and a big bang that everyone will remember you by.

Well, depending on what kind of graduation party, I would go with a family gathering, and then an adult party after ward! If the kids are under age still, would still have to go with a large gathering of friends and family to help celebrate the big day.

A good idea would be to hire an old school style buffoon to tell jokes. None of this fancy clown stuff. Also, have lots of beer.
