Two at home remedies for thrush of the mouth are yogurt, and baking soda and vinegar. Yogurt can be given with your finger or with a cotton swab or put directy on the thrush. Baking soda and vinegar can be made with one-teaspoon baking soda in eight ounces of water and applied the same way.

Yogurt and probotics can sometimes take care of a mild case of thrush. Be sure to take care of yourself too. You can pass it back and forth between the two of you while breast feeding! You can make breast milk yogurt if you are adventurous! For serious or painful thrush, anti fungals are the best.

You can use Gentian Violet it is sold at most drug stores like CVS. You put a drop or two in the mouth. It turns the mouth and lips purple but that goes away.

I would recommend using gentian violet for an infant that has thrush. You can buy it at any pharmacy. It is an over the counter medication. If you are a breastfeeding mother I would recommend treating your nipple area with this medicine also.

To eliminate the yeast, that caused the thrush. Wash/sterilize all toys, bottles and pacifiers. If you breast feed, apply apple cider vinegar on and around your nipples and air-dry.
