Yogurt cheese is a fantastic option. You take nonfat yogurt and strain it in the refrigerator overnight. It gets as thick as cream cheese and as delicious as yogurt. It is both healthy and delicious, and it is very easy to make.

There are some new butter alternatives like "Smart Balance. " These are basically some unique combinations of different oils and they sometimes include omega-3s and flaxseed oil. They taste like margarine, but have better health benefits and are also significantly lower in calories.

Organic peanut butter is healthy, as long as there isn't a lot of fatty oils in it. Hummus is also very healthy and it is easy to make hummus by putting chickpeas in a food processor.

Soft margarines are healthier than butter or stick margarine. Nut or seed butters and low fat cheeses, are good sources of protein. Low sugar fruit spreads are also healthy choices.
