A few great song would be "Single Ladies" and "Diva" by Beyonce, "Miss Independent" by Ne-Yo, Chaka Khan "I'm Every Woman", "Redneck Woman" by Gretchen Wilson, Aretha Franklin's "RESPECT" and "Independent Women" by Destiny's Child. There are many songs out there that talk about women positively. Another great one would be "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor.

The number one song for independent women is Independent Women, by Destiny's Child. This song is featured in the Charlie's Angel soundtrack. Another good song is Respect by Aretha Franklin or The Sign by Ace of Base.

Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive", Carly Simon's "You're So Vain", KT Oslin's "80's Ladies" come to mind. Martina McBride's "Independence Day" and "This One's For the Girls", and how about Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun".

If you really want to show your independece you should choose some of the theatre songs. These songs will give you the ability to not only show your strength vocally, but also give you the ability to throw a little "presentation" into your music to make it appear more independent.
