There is a move away from the traditional junky, unnecessary party favors that no one really needs or wants. Invest the money in good food or make a donation of some books to the local library. You can include a bookplate that specifies the reason for the donation.

Disposable cameras that you can buy on-line in bulk at wholesale, this way everyone get's one. Have a basket and ask everyone to return the cameras at the end of the night. Once the cameras are developed you will have hundreds of different pictures of your wedding and many aspects of the memory.

Match book covers with the bride and groom's name and wedding date are popular, as are little candy bars with a cover featuring the names of the bride and groom.

It can range from anything from bubbles to a bag of candy. The most unique thing I've seen are personalized M&M's Candies with the Bride and Grooms names.

Consider swapping a tradional wedding favor like a candle for something your guests can eat. Cookies or candies in the theme of the wedding are a great option.
