What are some good family dogs?

We have had many dogs in our family. Cocker Spaniels are loveable. Poodles, either toys, mini's or standard are very loving and non-allergenic. Retrievers are awesome too!

Beagles make wonderful pets for children. Other good breeds are the Labrador Retrievers and Golden Retrievers. All of these dogs are tolerant and gentle, yet love playing and romping. They are also bright and respond well to training.

A good family dog is usually a mixed dog, however if you are looking for a pure bread, you should look into Labradors, and Great Danes. These options should only be considered if you or someone in your home has a dominant personality. Smaller dogs such as terrors are good dogs for more conservative people.
