The Bible is full of intentional humor, but much of it is subtle and is best understood in its original language. Elijah uses sarcasm, and God and Job trade sarcastic barbs. The first 5 books of the Bible are especially rife with wordplay, including puns and double entendres. Unfortunately, language-based humor is often lost in translation.

Humor is in the eye of the beholder. The various books of the Bible were not intended to be funny. Each book is meant to be an historical account. If the reader believes that certain passage are amusing, that can only serve to further his enjoyment of the book.
