There are many ways to decorate an apartment on a small budget. One way is to find multi-purpose items, such as an ottoman that also serves at storage. I would also recommend visiting second hand stores. Many of them have great finds if you're willing to refinish items. This is also a great way to create your own unique look.

If you're able, just repainting the walls can be cheap and make such a difference to the look and feel of your whole apartment - do it yourself with a roller! Simple finishing touches such as throws, cushions, lamps, lightshades and candles from shops like Ikea are super affordable and can completely transform your home.

You could go to the salvation army or thrift stores. Try garage sales or flea markets. Try second-hand stores or websites. Ask friends or family they may have stuff stored away in their garage, basement or attic that they no longer use and want. Go to Ikea they have reasonable priced furniture and home decorations for any budget.

Decorating an apartment does not have to cost alot of money. You can decorate using plants, flower arrangements, nice colorful rugs, glassware and toss pillows. Purchasing some inexpensive lights will also add to an apartment decor. You can also go to thrift stores and get alot of great items for very little money.

Pictures and frames! Inexpensive and you can frame pretty much anything from pictures of your friends to collectibles. Grouping small collections or candles can also be inexpensive.

Paint is the main answer. Paint and bold accessories. Color can have such a big effect. Look for inspiration in magazines or books, and buy the best quality paint you can get. (Saves you the extra layer! ) Accessories: get more of the same! Not two but five, or even more.

Try getting some pictures up, some throw blankets and pillows, maybe you could try looking at thrift stores and see if they have any furniture on sale. Good luck!

Be creative! Consider visiting a thrift store to find unique touches at low prices, and don't be afraid to reuse or repaint existing furniture.

Dollar stores are a great place to find cute decorations for cheap. You could also hit up yard sales and consignment shops.

Start by going to thrift stores in your area. Ask friends or look on yelp, google, etc. to find out which ones have things that are both cheap and cool.

Since space is usually an issue in apartments, focus on items that can be used for multiple things and focus on the walls and up. For example, maybe line the top of the wall with shelves. Simplicity is also best with limited space. Don't over clutter the walls as that will affect the comfort.
