If you are referring to Mexican Cowboy boots, they are made in ostrich, armadillo, bull, and lizard hide. They were worn by the Mexican cowboys. They are for men, women and children. If you are just looking for a souvenir, there are many stores that sell replica boots.

Regular cowboy boots should work just fine to fit in. Especially in the north of the country, Mexicans like to wear leather boots for working or even parties. You can go to any Western wear place, or any mall in a Mexican part of town, and find typical boots. You can buy expensive exotic leather, but it is not necessary.

This type of boot is very much like the cowboy boot it just has a slightly lower heel. The boots are usually made of some sort of animal skin.

Big mistake if you use regular American cowboy boots and/or outfit. There are many differences between cowboy boots and mexican cowboy boots. If you use American cowboy boots, you will be ridiculed by locals. Trust me I made that mistake one.
