I would set up a schedule where you start running little amounts everyday. Say the first day, your goal would be to run five minutes, then the next day, it would be six minutes, the next day seven, until you work your way up to an hour a day of running!

It is very important to start any excercise routine lightly, so as not to get burned out. Try walking around the block the first week or two and gradually increase your speed. Create an upbeat song list on your mp3 player. Find a friend who will excercise with you and keep you motivated. Excercise at the same time every day.

I know it can be tough because you lose your breath easily. Don't be discouraged. At first start on a treadmill, then run outdoors when you're ready.

Avoid a lot of sugar, drink plenty of water or gatorade. Change any bad eating habits to something you can benefit from. Always eat a good breakfast before you run.

If you haven't been exercising in the past, the best start would be on a treadmill or a set distance to walk daily, then run after comfortable with walking.
