1. fullback dive (off the left or right of the center) 2. tailback lead (fullback lead-block between center/guard, guard/tackle either side) 3. tailback pitch (tailback goes around-end on pitch) 4. tailback trap (fullback dives ahead, tailback steps and then counters, following lead-block of pulling guard or tackle)

The most basic play is a lead dive. With 2 Running Backs behind the QB one can be the lead blocker while the other one runs with the ball right behind the lead blocked.

some great I formation plays are; a regular dive up the middle to either the full back or running back, a toss to either the left or right, or catch the defense off guard with a play action pass. you could also run a quarter back sneak up the middle to try and gain a couple of yards.

The option is a very good play in college football. It gives the runner a second option to scoring on the opposing teams defense. The shotgun is also another good formation, it gives the quarterback more time to look for an open man.
