The Kickapoo Creek Rock Festival took place on Memorial Day Weekend, including 29th & 30th of May 1970 at Al Timke, Chatham, Near Heywood, Illinois. It was a three day festival, which attracted about 60,000 people. Artists who performed included, Canned Heat, B. B. King, Delaney and Bonnie & Friends and The Paul Butterfield Blues Band; amongst many others.

"Kickapoo Rock Fest" was a three-day festival held over Memorial Day weekend in Heyworth, Illinois on the banks of Kickapoo Creek. The 60,000+ crowd heard music by more than twenty acts, including Canned Heat, B. B. King, and Delany and Bonnie. REO Speedwagon was one of the newer bands; also playing was an unknown British group called Genesis.
