The correct way to install a kitchen is floor first. when this is done you insure lower renovation costs in the future. you must remember the kitchen is a room.

Install the cabinets first. The possibilty of damaging the new floor is great when removing the old cabinets and installing the new cabinets. The new floor can be easily installed around the new cabinets.

You will save money by not putting the flooring where you will not see it under cabinets. If this is not an issue, make sure to cover the new floor.

When remodeling my kitchen, flooring was first. It is a good idea because usually flooring will be replaced before cabinets, and this makes it easier to replace.

If you are installing a vinyl flooring product, it will be easier for the installer to put the floor down. If you are installing hardwood or laminate, you must wait until the cabinets are installed; otherwise any warranty the product has will be voided. Cabinets installed over hardwood or laminate can cause the product to buckle.

I would always lay a floor down before installing any cabinetry or appliances. It will eliminate extra cutting and extra work.

I suggest installing your kitchen floor after the cabinets. Floors should always be the last thing to do when remodeling.

Always install the cabinets before installing the kitchen floor. The cabinets need to be level in order to properly support the counter top. If using a stone counter top, the it could crack if it isn't level. Installing the floor last will allow for a flush application and aesthetically pleasing look.

We installed our vinyl cushion floor before the cabinets because it was a lot easier - no cabinetry to cut around and fewer tight spaces to work in. We'd do it again, even with ceramic tile, for convenience's sake. But there is a cost - you pay for flooring that will never be seen under the cabinets!
