Should I change the recipe if I plan to bake a cake in the microwave?

I don't recommend you modify a baking recipe unless you really know what you are doing. There is a variety of wonderful cookbooks out there on Microwave cooking or you can check online for a cake recipe that is planned for the Microwave.

The recipe needs to fit what you are cooking the cake in. There is a great cake that fits in a coffee cup on the internet! Google for some recipes. But more importantly, make sure you are cooking in a microwave safe dish!

For best results when baking a cake in the microwave you should buy a cake mix that is specifically designed for the microwave. There are several micowave options available and they will taste much better than trying to microwave a regular cake. If you do microwave a regular cake, make sure you are not using a metal pan.
