What this means is that your amp is drawing so much power from your battery, your headlights are being dimmed in the process. This is because your amp is not leaving enough power in the battery for the headlights. What you need is a less powerful amp or a more powerful battery.

It is all about the power, dimming lights are an indication your system is not getting the power it needs, best place to go is a local audio house and have them check the power requiments.

it might be due to the power consumed by the amp, since the amp is turned on you may not be able to hear songs and it causes more battery loss and it could also lead to engine failure. so it would be better if you switch off your radio when you drive. radio consumes more power than amps,so it dims.

Having the lights dim when the amp is turned on is not an uncommon problem. It is caused by a the large sudden draw that you amp requires. Your electrical system is unable to keep up so the voltage drops and your lights dim. Have your electrical system checked to see how you can safely boost your power.
