Take the back cover off of your TV remote control and check the batteries. If problem persists replace the batteries with fresh new batteries. If the problem persists contact your TV's manufacturers customer service and inquire as how to replace the remote. If no help is available purchase a universal remote from a local general store.

You should get a universal remote control, and program it to your RCA television. Test to see if you can turn it on or off this way. If not, unplug your T.V. and check to see if the switch is stuck or broken. If your not comfortable trying to fix it yourself, call a professional repair man.

The simplest way to turn off the TV is to pull the plug from the wall. This isn't the best method, but is quick. Be sure to call a repairman as soon as possible so that you can enjoy television safely again.

Have you tried using the on/off button on both the television and the remote control? If neither of them work then there is a problem with the internal circuitry of the television. You will need to contact an official RCA television repair person to come over and examine the TV to fix the problem.

If the screen never turns off, see if the power button on the remote and the television both have the same problem. If not, the non-working button is malfunctioning and is probably too much trouble to fix. If the TV is newer and the screen turns off but a light remains on, this is normal. It's a standby mode.

You should, of course, take your RCA TV switch to radio shack or call RCA in order to have your tv switch serviced. They will either be able to repair your switch or inform you of how to replace it. They may refer you to a licensed RCA repair center.

It's possible that your TV is just entering standby. Most modern TVs are never really off, but continue to draw a slight amount of power.

First check your automatic timer. Sometimes a television can be stuck on a timing program that won't allow them to be shut off until a certain time. Next check the batteries on your remote, perhaps they are dead.

if you have a set top cable box, chances are you can plug your tv into the outlet on the back of the box. there is a setting in the menu for the set top box that allows you to turn the tv off when you turn off the set top box off. call your cable provider for instructions/ help.
