It a well-being issue, not a easy decision in any-way. If your pet is in pain or is not comfortable any more, then it is probably time to put it down, as hard as it sounds. In the end it will be the best decision and you will be better off knowing that your pet is not suffering.

You should ask yourself what is being gained from the suffering? You are gaining some time with your beloved friend, but what is the quality of that time?

If the pet is in a lot of pain and discomfort, it is more humane to put him down. However, you should consult with a veterinarian.

It's hard, but once a pet is suffering on a daily basis, the kind thing to do is to have them put to sleep.
