The most easy was to solve the problem is simply to replace the lock. If you need to keep the present lock, you need to determine if the problem is the lock or key.

Contact a locksmith to replace the defective lock. You can also replace it yourself but make sure your new lock is keyed to your old key by a locksmith.

There are two ways. We may change the lock itself or can remodify the key. Usually the key makers do it for minimal prices. When we get another spare key to him with the key which is malfunctioning, he will correct it and make it to use. sometimes, key may be bended.

Go to a key making store and tell them the kind of lock you have and they can make you one. Or go on line and see when you can get one. You will need the name of the lock, and what part of the door you want to unlock. Usually there are two locks on front doors.
