My Blazer has no 4wd, what should I do?

Remove the console cover (the plastic cover which covers the floor mounted shifter) and check to ensure the vacuum line is attached to the FWD shifter solenoid. This line frequently comes loose from the solenoid and disables the shifting, or "locking in", of the front differential.

First, be sure that you are engaging the 4wd properly. 4WD low generally must be engaged under 5 miles per hour. if you are engaging it correctly, than you may have an issue with the diaphragm which pulls the lock cable for the front differential to engage 4wd.

Four-wheel drive not working could come from a few different factors. The shifter in the vehicle may be at fault, causing the four-wheel drive to not engage. It could also be mechanical in the driveshaft of the car itself, where a gear may be stripped, or someething of that nature.

It depends on whether or not your blazer was equiped with 4wd from the dealership. In the case that it was, and your front wheels are no longer engaging into 4wd you may have a bad transfer case or blown out cv joints.

Check for power to the switch and to the automatic hubs. check if the transfer case is engaging. make sure that the problem isnt just operator era and you kno for sure how your four wheel drive system engages. if it has manual hubs make sure they are fuly engaged if they dont engage repair or replace them .

If you have a 4WD light on the get it scanned at a local parts store or dealer and see what the code is. More than likely its the 4wd acuator switch that is bad.

Do a check of the whole 4wd system. More than likely you have a failed component throwing the system out of whack.
