Despite what others say, vinegar has always helped keep my burns from blistering. It might not get rid of much pain, but it speeds healing. It even kept a third-degree burn from scarring as much as it should have, in my experience.

Vinegar is not a good treatment for burns. Some say is can help reduce the pain of very mild sunburn. For more serious burns, natures best is aloe vera. If possible taken from a leaf from a live plant, and squeeze the gel directly onto the burn. This alleviates pain and reduces healing time.

For sunburns the answer is yes it is. I'm not sure about actual healing time but the pH of the vinegar will take away the sting of the sunburn pretty effectively. It will still leave you smelling like vinegar though. You can also use a vinegar solution as a developer/fixitive agent for Black and white film.

Several sources list vinegar, especially apple cider vinegar, as an effective pain reliever for sunburn. According to these surces, vinegar is safe to use on first degree sunburns, which do not have blisters. Do not use vinegar on any second degree, blistering sunburns or on any second or third degree burn.

vinegar is one of the best treatments for sunburns specifically but not for other types of burns. All other burns first thing would be cold water or ice followed by special burn ointment not vinegar save the vinegar just for sunburns. I would not try to treat any other type of burn with vinegar only a sunburn
