Is training a Yorkshire terrier any different than training another dog breed?

You've got to have more patience with a yorkie because a yorkie is of the terrier breed. Although very intelligent, these dogs often have a short attention span that needs training. Getting your yorkie to sit still will be half of the battle. Use small (for the tiny mouth), soft treats while training your yorkie. He will pay more attention.

Training yorkies is a little different from training other breeds due to the fact that these dogs have an aggressive way about them.Their temperaments differ and they are stubborn.Their long hair is another problem and temperatur affects them terribly. These dogs are probably not very well suited for children as they become nervous to easily.
