Is there some way to get dog urine stains out of light-colored carpet?

My dog is small and I didn't notice the urine spots until the stains turned dark.

Have you tried Natures Miracle? That has always seem to work the best. It might need to let it set on the carpet for up to 15 minutes. If that doesn't work, Try Spot Shot. Spray on (there is no rinsing needed). And if that doesn't work, you may be out of luck. :-(

The best way to clean up urine stains is to blot it right away with a towel, to soak up as much as you can. Then, use a carpet cleaner such as Resolve. Spray it directly onto the stain, let it sit for 10 minutes and then blot it.

I have used Mr.Clean with Fabreeze to remove pet stains from my carpet, and not remove the carpets color with a high rate of success. I just put it into my carpet cleaner in place of the regular solution, and then used the pet stain removal tool that came with it.

Dog urine would not make the carpet turn black. But mold would. If the dog went on the carpet and you did not wipe it up then the matting beneath the carpet is probably damages with mold.
