Is there an age limit for enlisting in the Navy?

My husband wants to enlist and he is 39.

Yes, there is an age limit for enlisting in the Navy. For the active Navy the age limit is 34. For the Naval Reserves the age limit is 39. If there is any prior military service the age limit can be waived, the amount of age waived depends on the amount of time the individual has spent in the military.

To qualify, you must be between the ages of 18 and 39 and have a high school diploma, although, in some instances, GED certificates can be accepted.
