Is it too much if you have been talking 81 mg of Ecotrin?

My son had a stroke and he is taking 81mg of baby aspirin. Ask your doctor is Ecotrin is safe in that dosage. Ecotrin is coated and gentler for your stomach, but baby aspirin are also coated. You don't want to anything that is making your blood too thin. That would be dangerous.

It should be fine as long as you are following the dosage spacing guidelines on the pack of Ecotrin. You can also call your doctor. Good luck!

If prescribed low dose aspirin treatment, Ecotrin is a common choice. 80 to 82 mg per day is recommended dosage and is not too much if taking as directed. However, use caution if using other pain medications that also contain aspirin - this could result in higher than intended levels.

I doubt that a 81 mg dosage would be too much for an average sized adult. 81 mg is basically equivalent to one aspirin tablet.

It depends on what you mean by "too much". Ecotrin is aspirin. It is marketed as a treatment to help prevent blood clotting. 81 mg is a fairly low dosage, so if you are taking that on a daily basis and are not suffering any side-effects, you are not going to overdose and should be fine.

Only if you are having adverse effects from it - are you seeing a different color in your urine, if so, you are wasting it.
