Is it safe to exercise in early pregnancy?

I have been a very loyal gym member and am concerned that my exercise routine will harm my baby.

It can still be safe to exercise during pregnancy. It is always best to be healthy for yourself and the unborn child. Most healthy women can continue exercise. Don't do exercises where injury to the baby can occur- kicking where injury to abdomen can occur. Good luck

You should avoid weight lifting and other strenuous activities. Your best bet for good exercise while pregnant would be to find a pregnancy aerobics class, these will be tailored to fit your needs and limitations. If at all possible avoid using gym provided towels during your workout as they typically contain high levels of chemicals.

Routine exercise is actually a good thing during pregnancy. You should just take it easy and don't do anything that is too straining. Ask your doctor what levels of exercise are acceptable.

Unless your doctor has advised you not to, it's fine to continue your current exercise plan. You may need to slow down as your pregnancy progresses.

Yes, in general it is safe to exercise during pregnancy. However, you should always follow your doctor's instructions. Also, if you experience any spotting or other bleeding, you should stop exercising and call your doctor immediately.
