You certainly can eat a wild persimmon safely. You should, however, be sure it is ripe before taking a bite! While it isn't dangerous to eat them unripe, it is certainly an unpleasantly bitter experience.

Yes, they are safe and delicious, but wait until first frost. If you eat before fully ripe, they will pucker your lips. They should be very soft and quite shriveled.

Yes, just make sure that it's ripe before eating it. Ripe persimmons are dark in color more likely orange to red. It's sweet in taste and some what juicy. And when peeling a persimmon, the pulpy inside will often squish out exposing the seeds. Discard the seed and eat.

Yes, it is safe to eat wild persimmon, but be aware that eating too many of these will give you the effects of a strong laxative.

Yes, wild persimmons are safe to eat, so long as they have not been exposed to hazardous chemicals. Persimmons that are not ripe have an unpleasant astringent and bitter taste, due to their high tannin content. Once soft and fully ripe, they are a delicacy. Many feel that persimmons do not achieve their peak flavor until after a hard frost.

That is probably not a good idea, there is no way to know if it is a real persimmon without studying what the plant looks like. Generally you should not eat anything that is growing wild unless you absolutely have to, and even then you need to be weary of what you are putting into your body.

Wild persimmon trees are uncommon, but their fruit is edible. Be sure to wash the fruit in case it has come in touch with some toxic substance as exhaust or pesticides.
