Is Hamunaptra a real place?

It's in the movie "The Mummy," but I can't find it on a map.

Hamunaptra, "The City of the Dead" depicted in "The Mummy" movies is a fictional place. There was no such city in Egypt. Although, there was once a real city named Hamunaptra in India. The city was part of a huge civilization that mysteriously ended well over a thousand years ago.

Although this was the name of a fictional city in the 1999 film "The Mummy," and was set in Egypt. there was indeed a real city called Hamunaptra. It was in India, and flourished during the second century, BCE. Both the real city was large and sophisticated.
