Yes and no. Many people with Alzheimers also have depression - more than in the general population. A person with both Alzheimers and depression will cry a lot; sometimes they are helped by treatment for the depression. Asking about the reason for sadness may help you understand the crying better.

Yes. Constant crying occurs due to the degeneration of the brain, causing uninhibited emotional outbursts. It commonly occurs in the third stage of Alzheimer's disease.

Although not necessarily common, it is a symptom of Alzheimers. This is a very hard disease for those affected to become accustomed to, understandably so. This could result in severe depression and in worse cases, sever demetia resulting in spastic mood swings, thus resluting in constant crying and the like.
