There is no scientific evidence that cervical cancer is hereditary. Most cases of cervical cancer are caused by the human papilloma virus which is sexually transmitted. Although, if cancer runs in your family there is a chance you will also be diagnosed with cancer at some point in your life.

Cervical cancer is not hereditary. The Human Papilloma Virus is the most common cause, and that is transmitted sexually. There is a vaccine that helps prevent cervical cancer (HPV vaccine).

As with any other cancer, a 1st degree relative having cancer does increase your risk. Make sure that your health care provider knows about your mother so that some precautionary measures may be taken.

It can be, but there are also environmental factors as well. You are also pulled from two different gene pools as well. I think there is some truth in that but like everything else anyone can get anything at anytime.
