It all depends on the beer. Some amber beers are very bitter and some have a nice taste to them. An amber beer that is too bitter tastes almost like biting into a very sour lemon.

Not all amber beer is bitter, it just has a different taste than a light beer, or any other beer. All beer tastes differently.
