Is a wishing well at a baby shower considered tacky?

As a rule tacky is whatever the mother to be's best friend would consider in bad taste -- the mother herself will be too busy to be as concerned. Generally, if the brides there had dollar dances at their weddings, the wishing well should go over well.

I do not think it would be tacky. Many people would probably prefer that to having to buy a present. They can contribute money.

No, it's not considered tacky per se. You may wish to extend different kinds of wishes though. If you are including notes in a card, you can write something comparable.
