Is a rookie baseball card generally more valuable?

It depends on the caliber of the player. For mediocre players, they aren't usually worth much. For top players, rookie cards are usually pretty valuable.

Yes, they are. This is because it is automatically one players very first sports cards. They just entered their sport so the cards of the player have just come out. There are usually limited productions of rookie cards too.

Yes, mostly because rookie cards are more rare than cards produces after the player has been playing a while. Alot of it also depends on the player, if he turns into an all time great, then that card could be worth alot more money than if he had just been an average player.
