Chiminea are very safe,because they are natural and consumes no fuel.they expel the smoke from the kitchen and keep the kitchen clean from smoke.They are used since old times and more safe then any kind of electric exhaust.less hazardous and pron to any accident.Thry requir less space and less initial finances.

Well it is safe. My friend bought one lately and it works great. It also radiates heat quickly and safely.

If you build it yourself make sure you get an expert to design it. The only safety issues may be having small burning coals jump out or smoke clogs, but an expert knows how to avoid these problems. They are pretty safe but put it somewhere with considerable space.
