In Texas is it legal to be 14 and go with a 17 year old?

I am 14 and my boyfriend is 17.

It is for the moment. However, problems could start after he turns eight teen. A lot of places will let that slide so long as there's no protests from the younger person's parents.

First off, there is nothing "illegal," about dating somebody (as bad as this sounds), no matter what age the two parties are. Where the legal part of it comes into play is if there is sex or touching involved.

No. In most cases you can date the person but if anyone finds out that you have had sex with him they can arrest him on statutory rape charges. I understand that you aren't trying to harm anyone with this relationship, but some people don't get that.

It is definitely legal to "go with" or date but you will need to be cautious if entering a sexual relationship. Even if 17 and 14 is legal he could turn 18 while still with you, and 18 and 14 may not be allowed.
