Law of detachment refers to being detached from the outcome of whatever you are doing. This is why some people say to ignore someone to get their utmost attention.

It is not imposing my ideas of how things should be on others. It is also not forcing solutions on problems and ultimately creating additional problems.

This term is used in geometry to describe modus ponens, which is p=>q is true and p is true, then q must be true. This can be easily explained through an example: If a triangle is an equilateral triangle than it is not an isoceles triangle. Triangle A is an equilateral triangle. Therefore, Triangle A cannot be a isoceles triangle.
