Yes. Probation will have certain conditions one must follow, such as commit no crimes, report to your agent if you move, keep a job, and also pay restitution. Pay it monthly. Don't get behind on it. Sometimes probation can be extended is restitution is not paid.

It depends on the crime that was committed. For instance, if you damaged someones property the chances are they are going to make you pay restitution.

Alternative sentencing often includes probation and restitution in lieu of jail time. It is reasonable to require restitution to make the victim whole again.

Dependent on the juristic and offense you are charged, many judges will tack on restitution as a sign of good faith that you are remorseful for your crime. Restitution is generally only given if: requested by the victim of the crime and there are some monetary damages suffered by the victim.

Assuming there's a financial loss involved with the crime, then yes. Usually you will have to pay back whatever is necessary to make the victim whole again.

Probation and restitution are tools of different court systems. Probation is a result of a criminal conviction, whereas restitution results from a civil trial lawsuit that is in favor of the plaintiff/victim.
