If you are obese, can you do pilates?

This is a tough question, because although you may be able to do some of the exercises during these classes, others will be extremely hard. Being overweight does not mean that you may not be physically capable to be active, like in pilates. Research the exercises. Try them first.

As it is based on yoga,it helps you focus on your inner self,promotes self acceptance and generally betters your sense of well being. Carried out with cardio,it balances your exercise program.

Only the individual themselves can answer whether they can, or can't do pilates. Pilates has nothing to do with weight (although obviously, the less you weigh, the easier it will probably be). You could always ask your family doctor if they think it's okay, and if they say yes, then it should be.

Yes, you can. You may struggle at first with flexibility but you should not be at too much of a disadvantage. If you are morbidly obese you may struggle more, but pilates is a fairly low-impact exercise.
