If my employer closed my place of work or told me not to come due to bad weather, do I still get paid?

It depends on the terms under which you were contracted, even then that assumes you have a contract to begin with. I'd say that in general, you are not entitled to payment since you did not attend work, even though the circumstances were outside of your control. Ask if you can work extra shifts to make up for lost time.

It all depends. Some places might pay you and some may not. Most places probably will not pay you, but you could ask to use a personal day or pick up an extra day so that you still can get paid. If you don't get paid, at least you have a day off though.

If you are salaried, you should be paid for that day. If your salary contract does not include plant closures or you are hourly with benefits, you must at least allowed to use a vacation day to cover that day's pay. If you are hourly and without benefits, you are not paid if you are not in work.

Although the laws for this might vary from state to state, you generally will not get paid if you did not work. There may be exceptions, however, if you are a salaried employee, if you are in a union, or if you have an employment contract with your employer that requires that you be paid in these circumstances.
