If you believe you may be pregnant, the earliest time frame to take an early detecting home pregnancy test is around day 25.

You can test up to 5 days in advance of your missed period using any one of the over the counter pregnancy tests at your local pharmacy. If this test is negative, take another pregnancy test after your period. Just because you got a period does not mean that you are not pregnant! Good luck!

Ovulation will not determine the day in which you should test for pregnancy. Pregnancy testing should be done no more than five days prior to your next expected period. That is if you use the correct pregnancy test. Some test you should not use till one day after your first missed menstruation.

You should wait until it is about ten days since you ovulated to test. If you don't have your period then, retest in 3 days.

Most home pregnancy tests can test up to four days before your missed period. Blood tests from the doctor can tell sooner than that. Remember the earlier you test, the less accurate they are.
