If I have an expired green card, will I be allowed to travel? Are there limits to where I could travel?

If think if that's the case then you're out of luck. You have to get the green card renewed immediately because you're violating the law when it's expired. You can travel to the office that fixes those things.

You can travel, but if you leave the country you will not be allowed back in. If you are traveling inside the country your green card will not be accepted as identification-- especially at an airport. You will need to have ground transportation.

It depends on where you are traveling. If it is within the US there should be no problem However, if you travel outside the US there is no guarantee that you will be allowed to renter the US.

If your Green Card is expired and you are in the Country illegally as soon as you go to apply for a passport your name will be flagged in the system and INS will probably deport you. I suggest you get your Green Card renewed before you travel to avoid this.

Continue to carry the expired green card until you renew it. Depending on which boards you cross, you may not be able to re-enter the U. S. with the expired card.
