Belongings in the residence equals occupancy. The individual is responsible for the rent. The presence of the individual has nothing to do with it. The property was being used and was unavailable for lease by another party.

Yes. As long as that person has their belongings in the apartment they still technically live there and have to pay rent.

You should first check the terms of your contract or lease to see what it states. You should also check your states landlord/tenant laws to verify. But generally yes, you are entitled to rent if their belongings are still in the unit.

If the belongings of that tenant prevented the land lord from renting out that room, the renter has essentially remained in residence. If the belongings were in storage on the premises but another person could live in that space, then rent is not owed but storage fees are.

Yes they do unless you want to loose all of your stuff. As long as your stuff is there you have to pay rent otherwise it will be taken out of the residence and the landlords can re-rent it.
